Weekend Recap

Hello Monday…Basketball and Boats

Happy Monday! Today I am linking up with Tayna, HeatherJohannah, and Lindsay for their fun weekly link-up, Hello Monday!

Friday morning was frosty and foggy!

We had dinner at our friends house and Guy had a sleepover at one of his friends houses. It was a pretty relaxed way to usher in the weekend. Saturday morning we headed to Maddi’s first basketball game of the tournament. We also had an extra friend along with us!

Maddi’s team won their first game. We had a couple of hours between games so we came home and the boys enjoyed the sunshine and headed outside to play. Don’t let Guy’s shorts fool you, it was COLD but he is wishing it was warm. Also, the boys requested mac and cheese and ate two boxes. Hahaha! I love feeding people and wonder how much food I will go through with a teenage son?!?!

And if you can’t go fishing you can get your fishing pole tangled up in a tree by pretend fishing…we might have shook our heads at this.

Brandon and I took the boys down to the river and let them run a remote control boat which they loved!

Maddi had a second game later that night and they ended up losing. After the game Brandon and I went to Home Depot and looked at house plants, TJ Maxx and looked at throw pillows and it was the best way to spend a Saturday night. Also, we grabbed milkshakes!

Saturday morning was busy. Brandon and I had to give cardboard testimonies at church and hurry to Maddi’s game. We got there just in time and she played her cousin which was super fun, and to no one’s surprise they ended up losing that game as well. Her cousin’s team is good and fun to watch.

The girls ended up losing in the championship game and ended up placing second in the tournament.

And what do two little brothers do during the game? Eat candy and have funny conversations…

We came home and did all the laundry, took baths, cleaned the house, and meal prepped for the week. You can see our meal plan for the week here.

I also made yummy brownies.

And then we watched the worst movies any of us have ever seen…The Little Mermaid…I am SO glad we did not go to the theatre to watch that. By the end of the movie we were all cracking jokes and completely over it, but we had already invested too much time into it to turn it off. Don’t waste your time. Hahahaha! Then it was some Parks and Rec for Brandon and I are off to bed. It was such a fun weekend full of fun and friends. I hope you had a great weekend. Thanks for reading!

  1. What a great weekend. Way to go Maddie on placing second. That’s awesome.
Oh boys. You will never be able to keep them full as teenagers. It’s crazy to me how much they eat when Ian has his friends over.

    1. I can only imagine what that is like to have a house full of teenage boys and trying to feed them all. Hahahaha!

  2. What? I hope you’re not talking about the classic version of The Little Mermaid which I love…I think you’re talking about the newer one…I’ll be sure to avoid it! lol!

    1. No, not the original LM the new one that came out last year. It was so bad and seemed like a bad 80’s movie. Hahaha!

    1. They are so good for sitting through their sister’s games. It takes a little candy and concession stand time but they are good sports.

  3. With two teenage boys in the house and one pre-teen I can assure you that you will go through lots and lots of food! 🙂 My oldest is wearing shorts today and we had a high of 30… yep, he’s nuts!

    1. I cannot wait! Hahaha! My kid loves his shorts. Sometimes I make him wear his cold gear “leggings” under his shorts but for the most part he just loves it because it doesn’t slow him down for football at recess. Hahaha!

    1. I do not know why my husband and I have never watched it before now! We have been missing out. We laugh so hard through every single episode!

  4. I saw that trailer, and even though I love Disney’s LM, this one looked cheesy & silly! Glad I’ve not watched it yet! These are such fun weekends, and I’m a sucker for a good basketball tournament!! Happy Monday!

    1. Do not waste your time on the movie. It was cheesey and seemed like it was straight out of the 80’s. Hahaha!
