Some Little Moments from Christmas Break…

Today the kids and I are headed back to school. I am struggling a bit at getting back into a routine, Brandon took off Christmas Break with us and we all had so much fun together. We watched the entire Harry Potter series, played games, stayed in our pajamas all day and then would put on new pajamas for bed, we watched basketball and all the football, we ate yummy food and soaked in all this break’s goodness. We also got to go play in the snow last week when we visited Brandon’s parent’s farm.

Guy got a snowboard for his Birthday so he was ready to shred…

Maddi spent most of her time on the sled…

And we also went shooting.

I curled up on the couch under a blanket, sipped tea and read a book while the men in my house played Madden and Maddi made slime on New Years Eve.

We stayed up until midnight on New Years Eve…barely, and then we all rushed off to bed. We toasted with sparkling cider and fancy cupcakes and all slept in the next morning.

It was a wonderful break and it was so much fun seeing family and friends, but also taking in a lot of time to relax and recharge. I hope you have been able to get in some rest and relaxation as well. Tomorrow I will be back and sharing my goals and resolutions for 2019, come back and link-up with me and Jen!

    1. That is so true about the five day week. We also have semester in 2.5 weeks so report cards and assessments are starting. I can’t believe it’s already this time in the school year!

    1. Wasn’t it wonderful? I felt so refreshed heading back to work and the kids did too! I hope you had a great “routine” day Erin!

  1. I hope today is an easy transition as you head back-to-school. We start back Monday and I already know it’s going to be rough, ha! It sounds like you all had such a sweet Christmas break. And somehow we stayed up until midnight NYE too, but like you guys, we rushed off to bed as soon as it hit 12:00. I was literally brushing my teeth during the countdown, haha… wild over here!!

    1. Wild here too! Ha! I hope you enjoy the rest of your break and then have a good transition back. It felt good to get back to routine today! Although, I will always miss slow mornings!

    1. It was a good day! It felt good to return to “normal”. I was also glad that we had nothing to do this afternoon too! Enjoy the rest of your break!

    1. Enjoy the rest of your break with your kiddos! It was tough, then I got to school and saw my students and after that it was so exciting and a fun day!

  2. YES – it was all about the recharge for us too. Don’t you think you don’t realise how tired you are when you start the holiday – it is only about a week later, when you are a different person, that you realise haha! Loved your snow photos – you are so lucky – not a snifter here. We are just taking the decorations down today and realised we’d missed something this Christmas – watching the Harry Potter films! Such a great family tradition – glad you share it too! Joanne x

    1. I love the Harry Potter movies, I hadn’t seen them until this year and they were great. I agree, I don’t think we realize how tired we are until we have some down time. It was much needed. I have loved all of your pictures and traditions!
