What's Up Wednesday

WUW: November 2018

Happy Wednesday! It is one of my favorite link-ups for the month. I love this fun little recap of what we have been up to this month. I am linking up with Mel, Shay, and Sheaffer  for What’s Up Wednesday!

What I’m reminiscing about…

What we’ve been up to…

We have had so much fun this month, Brandon was on a mission trip to Puerto Rico, we enjoyed early evenings at home and played lots of games, Maddi started basketball, we celebrated Brandon and Guy’s birthday, we celebrated Thanksgiving and we kicked off the Christmas season.

What I’m dreading…

Absolutely nothing. I love this time of year!

What I’m working on…

Jen over at the Bolin Bunch and I are hosting a fun new link up next year and we would LOVE for you to join us! Mark your calendars, it’s going to be fun!

What I’m watching/reading…

We have been watching all the Christmas movies.

Can I Refill Your Eggnog? Moose Glass Women's Jr Fit T-Shirt

This was such a great read and a great reminder about what the season is truly about and how to cut down on chaos.

What I’m doing this weekend…

We have a fun weekend planned full of Christmas festivities and fun to keep us in the Christmas spirit. I also hope to get in some relaxing time as well.

What I’m looking forward to next month…

Christmas everything! I cannot wait for all our Christmas traditions, Christmas food, our advent calendar, George the Elf, Christmas Eve service, walking around and looking at all the lights, and celebrating Christmas and the season with family and friends.

BONUS…Elf tips…

You can check out  Elf Ideas here.

Another tip is setting an alarm on your phone to move the elf. So many times we have went to bed and forgotten to move it. My kids go to bed around 8 so I set an alarm for 9.

For all of you that have the "elf on a shelf."

I hope you have a great day! Thanks for reading today! I hope you have had a great November.

  1. Cute outfits! I will have to check that book out. Turn Off the Christmas Machine book really made an impact on me and helped me to simplify and focus on the religious and non materialistic aspects of the season.

    1. This book was so good for me. I love when the author spoke about saying no to invitations or parties, and how it is ok to say “no”. We have ran ourselves ragged in years past trying to keep up and this year we are focusing on margin and slowing down to enjoy the season and each other. I am going to have to read Turn OFF the Christmas Machine too, that sounds like such a good one! Thank you for sharing!

    1. I am very excited for the holidays. I loved the picture you posted of Alyx with her elf! I just love this time of year and seeing the magic through my kid’s eyes. I hope you join us next year 🙂

    1. Oh I am SOOOO happy to hear you will be linking up! That makes my day. Our elf arrives on Saturday as well. I have been pinning ideas like crazy!

  2. I’m excited about your link-up! You have picked some really great topics. I plan to participate! I love Chris Tomlin! I will check out more of his Christmas music. I’ve been trying to reset after the holidays!! It’s been a challenge!

    1. OH Shan! You made my day that you are going to participate in the link up! WOOHOO! Also, you have to listen to the song Adore, it is my favorite song on the album. I hear you about resetting.

  3. Yay for a fun new link-up since 10 on the 10th will be done :). I am so excited we have matching planners!!!! I love this time of year too and I am so glad you all thrived while Brandon was away serving!

    1. I am so sad about 10 on the 10th but completely understand. I am SO excited to get my products from your shop!!! EEEK!

    1. I cannot wait! Our elf comes back on Saturday morning too and I know the kids are getting super excited but worried because he hasn’t shown up yet!

    1. I hate that feeling when you make it all the way to bed and realize you never moved it. Hahaha! The worst!

    1. Me too Heather! I am the same exact way! I am really trying to soak it all in and simplify things this year. I know exactly what you mean. I love the book!

    1. Thank you so much Jocelynn! I hope you linkup! Also, random question but I see you are doing your student teaching soon, what grade? I teach kinder!

    1. I am SO excited about my Emily Ley planner! It came in the mail and it is so pretty. I was little worried about page thickness but my flair pens don’t bleed through. I LOVE using a new planner!
