This was a great little weekend and we fit in a lot of relaxing and home time and fun. On Friday Brandon brought me lunch…tacos! I also worked on organizing all of my assessment data for report cards.
I have one of the neatest experiences of my teaching career on Friday afternoon. One of my old high school teachers came at the end of the day (I teach one of his grandkids) and he came in and taught the kids all about story telling, told stories (some about me) and read a book. It was so much fun and just so fulfilling…you guys, this teacher was the one who made me believe in myself about my math abilities, worked tirelessly to teach me new tricks to make math “click” and was also my basketball coach. It was so much fun! Needless to say, it was loud and crazy and full of laughter in my room, so I was so happy to turn the lights off and have a clean room ready for Monday.
When I got home Brandon was doing yard work and can you see ALL the bugs?!?! Millions of little aphids are flying around YUCK! Tis the season.
Guy and Maddi did their homework.
Brandon and I went out for date night…hello yummy pizza!
When we got home that night we kicked back, watched some TV and I worked on some blog posts.
Saturday morning we picked up our groceries from WalMart, I LOVE using their grocery service.
Check out all the fall colors!
Guy had a playoff game for football, his team was ranked 6th (out of 10) going into this game. They are a group of 2nd graders playing against 3rd and 4th graders and so I just assumed they would lose. We have gotten so good over this season, but we were playing the 3rd ranked team who had only lost 1 time. THEY WON! We are now ranked in the top 4 and will play next week!
When we got home I made some pumpkin whoopie pies for Brandon to take to a meeting that night.
The weather was so beautiful that the kids rode their bikes and played some basketball outside.
I painted my nails and watched Real Housewives of Orange County.
Sunday was full of church and family.
I hope you had a great weekend! We have a really busy week ahead of football and now basketball! WOOHOO!
