Happy Thursday. I love a day in the life post and try sharing one each month (I did just skip September because it flew by). Here is what a normal Tuesday in October looks like for us right now.
I got up a little later than normal, but still plenty early. I may get up early, but it’s not all sunshine and daisies. Hahaha! It takes me awhile to wake up fully, ask Brandon!
Just starting to get ready for the day, I jumped in the shower, and then put my contacts in, Brandon brings me a coffee and ice water each morning, and I kind of just fumble around. Ha!
Dry shampoo saves me!
Here is what my makeup routine consists of. I just keep it pretty simple most days.
After I do my hair and makeup, I have some quiet time with my devotional and Bible. Right now I am reading Deuteronomy.
After my quiet time I check my blog post and try to read other blogs during this time as well as work on mine a little bit.
I wake the kids up at 6:30. Maddi is like me, slow to move and doesn’t want to talk in the morning. Guy is ready for breakfast and chocolate milk right away and is a chatty little thing!
While he was eating his breakfast, I unloaded the dishwasher from the night before.
I also started a load of laundry.
I have a protein shake every morning for breakfast. I love this powder from Primal Kitchen.
We all put our shoes on and headed out the door around 7:10. I had a prayer group at school and realized I was running a little late so I just grabbed a bag of salad from the fridge for my lunch and Maddi was mortified. Hahaha!
Here was our morning message for the day.
And we always start our day with our morning meeting, calendar and a little chit chat.
We worked on learning all about the letter “Yy”. We do a circle map each day of pictures and work hard on learning the letter sound.
Also, not a day goes by that I don’t use a smelly sticker throughout the day. My students flip out for them.
Tuesdays are planning days for me so I worked on next week’s lesson plans with my co-teachers.
We also worked on our numbers and practiced small motor with drip glue.
I needed a little fuel to carry me through the afternoon.
We have been reading Pippi Longstocking in class. I highly recommend this book. Who remembers this movie?
We have also been learning all about bats this week!
After school Guy came into my classroom and played some Cool Math Games
Maddi helped get my “Writers Workshop” folders all set up for Thursday!
The kids and I got home a little after 3 and started homework, cleaned out folders and lunchboxes and had a snack.
While helping Guy with homework I did a little cleaning around the kitchen and living room.
Brandon got home (he was doing some yard work at the church, but usually picks the kids up from school) and we did our Bible Study reading together.
At 4:30 we all went to football practice. Brandon helps coach. We are playing our really good friends’ team so it will be fun on Saturday.
We got home around 6 and I started dinner…
….while Brandon helped Guy make a musical instrument (wheat in a container…all Guy’s idea) for instrument sharing day the next day in school.
I refueld with some ice tea that Brandon brought home for me.
And then we all settled in for Taco Tuesday!
After dinner it was bath time, reading time and a little TV time. At 8 when the kids went to bed, Brandon and I sat down to watch Bull and I had another cup of tea. Hahaha!
We were in bed around 9:30. It was a busy and full day! Happy Thursday and thanks for reading!
