Friday Favorites

Friday Favorites {10/5/18}

Today I am linking up  with Andrea, Narci, and Erika.   Today I am recapping some of my favorites from the week.

760f8-friday2bfavoritesThis has been a fun but short week at school. Today we are off and enjoying our FAVORITE way to spend the morning, slow and easy. We have some fun things planned for the weekend as well and we are ready to start it early.

Last weekend a FAVORITE was going to the WSU game.

A new FAVORITE fall candle…

A fun date night at our FAVORITE pizza place…yes, that’s sauerkraut  and mustard sauce on 1/4 of that pizza.

I changed my letter board in my classroom…not only is the letter board a FAVORITE, but so is the quote from The Office, one of my FAVORITE shows.

And my MOST FAVORITE….our school had our only fund raiser of the school year this week. The kids have been raising money for two weeks and we raised over $45,000 which 100% of the money goes directly to classrooms and the students. We have a GREAT school and community that will always be a FAVORITE.

Not only do the kids raise the money but they also win fun prizes and Guy walked away with this football game…

A NOT FAVORITE from the week is all the destructive bucks we have visiting us throughout the night and early mornings. They are horn fighting in our yard, digging up our yard, eating all the bushes, and have eaten my pumpkins. They are not afraid of anything, but is has been fun to be able to almost touch them.

I hope you have had a great week and I hope that you have a fun weekend planned. Happy Friday!

  1. Those bucks are HUGE!!! I love pineapple on my pizza, but sauerkraut!? No!! 🤣😂that pizza looked awesome though how you had different toppings on the quart sections!

  2. Oh my goodness those bucks! Eating the pumpkins. I have never heard of deer going up to porches and eating the stuff on them. I hope it stops soon! Have a great weekend!

    1. It is such a huge blessing and so fun to see how much the community supports our students. It is a fundraiser for grades Preschool-5th grade and we only have about 250 students in those grades so they bring in a lot of money!

  3. Holy smokes!! That is so so much money! That is fantastic. Our school is hoping to pull in about $20,000 and we are awfully close to that now.

    1. This is our 12th year doing it and it just keeps getting bigger and bigger and we are so blessed. I think what helps the kids the most is their prizes. (a limo ride, a bounce house, a fun pack, golden tickets) it’s crazy fun and it makes them earn that money….at $20,000 our Principal sleeps on the roof of the school, at 30 the teachers have crazy hair (we even had a professional come in and give us all crazy hair one morning). It is so much fun and such a blessing!

  4. Like i said on IG – there are so many guys that would love to come take care of those bucks that live in my ‘hood LOL! Our deer do not look like that we have straight up white tail…is that a mule deer? I’m a nerd. Anyway, college football games are the best! I hope your weekend is amazing!

  5. Those deer…They must be teenage bucks! That fundraiser is incredible! Hope y’all have a great weekend. We are going to be relaxing at home, since the next weekends seem to be fully booked all the way through december!!

  6. Nathan says deer hate bars of soap! And he suggested turning a radio on or the sprinklers during the time that they come and maybe that will help keep them out of your yard.

  7. Gosh they are some ‘bold bucks’!! I guess it is a tough one – cool to be that close to wildlife but kind of frustrating how destructive they are. Have you tried loud noises to scare them off – or movement activated lighting? Saying that I’d probably be glued to my window watching them eat the pumpkins! I cannot believe you raised so much for the school. In TWO WEEKS! That’s crazy – schools here couldn’t even dream of raising so much – what an achievement! I hope you had a great weekend – J xx

    1. They are such bad bucks. Hahaha! I feel like they are teenage boys! We will step outside and clap at them or yell and they just look at us, but they won’t let us get close enough to touch them. It has been funny, but frustrating at the same time. We are so blessed to be in such a giving community! The Fund Run always amazes me at the generosity shown to our little school. Thanks for stopping by Joann! I hope you have a great weekend!
