Friday Favorites {8/24/18}

Today I am linking up  with Andrea, Narci, and Erika.   Today I am recapping some of my favorites from the week.

760f8-friday2bfavoritesThis week was a fun week. I headed back to work and I was able to meet my new students and their families. The kids and I also got some days in at home as well before our summer break comes to an end next Tuesday. Here is a look at our FAVORITES from the week….

One of my FAVORITES for my classroom have been these chalk markers! You can also see a peek inside my kindergarten classroom here.

I found my FAVORITE sweet treat at WalMart this week. Not all licorice is created equal…give me all the Ropes!

We took a trip to the school one evening this week and Guy spotted his name outside of his classroom which was a FAVORITE. Being able to get a sneak peek seems to help their anxiety about going back to school.

My sunflowers are HUGE! This one is 9 feet tall!

I drink a shake each morning for breakfast and I add spinach to the shake. Did you know you can just throw spinach in the freezer? It keeps for a solid two months in your freezer. Plus, it is like adding ice to your smoothie. Now I am not buying spinach every week!

Speaking of produce, the peaches at Costco right now are PERFECTION! We have been eating them like candy!

Getting a new order of all the Flair Pens is a FAVORITE!

Guy getting his back to school hair cut…I can’t even handle how old he looks!

Maddi’s FAVORITE book has been Harry Potter. She can’t put the book down and even reads it at night after bedtime.

I hope you had a great week! I also hope you have a wonderful weekend. Happy Friday friends!

  1. I used to love when the boys spotted their names on the classroom boards. So sweet! Ahh I am having peaches and yogurt for breakfast today, Yum. The sunflowers…so big and beautiful! Enjoy your weekend! xo

  2. I love Guy’s new haircut for school…very stylish. And I love that Maddie loves reading the Harry Potter books. I have tried to get the girls to read them but they have gotten into them yet. Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!!

    1. She can’t put it down and even stays up late to read them. I am SO glad! She also fell in love with the Little House on the Prairie books (which made my heart all sorts of happy). She watched the Harry Potter movie (#1) first before she read the book and I think that is what sold her on the books. I hope you are having a great weekend!

  3. So I wanted to share with you that my little one got a FABULOUS TA!!!! She’s wonderful and makes a true difference with the kids so praise God! Now your week looks like it was fun. Fab haircut for the dude! Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

  4. I am so glad that kids are still reading Harry Potter. When I was your kids ages the books were just coming out and my mom and I would line up outside the bookstores just to get our hands on a copy of the book which I would proceed to read in less than 48 hrs and then proceed to pout UNTIL the movie would come out at the theater. Do you think as an educator that there has been a slump in reading by kids in the past 5-10 years?

    1. My daughter has loved reading them. I was able to score all of the movies on Amazon Prime Day for $20 for Christmas this year. My kids are going to flip out….plus, it will be nice to be able to watch all the movies after reading all the books. We really push for reading outside of school at our school. I also let my kids read whatever books (easy, maybe something I think is horrible…like Captain Underpants, hahaha!) just because I think fostering a love of reading for enjoyment is so important. I think tablets have taken the place of a lot of things in households these days, so getting kids to put those down and pick up books and toys can be challenging.
