Hello! This past week I have been asked by a couple people for recommendations for Bible Studies, books and Podcasts. I am always super excited to share and also get ideas as well. I figured I would share with you all today what some of my favorites are.
I have read two daily devotionals for several years now. I alternate between the two…
Another devotional that I highly recommend is Streams in the Desert… I am going to revisit this devotional next year.
Oh I love a good bible study. Here are some of my favorites….
I loved The Armor of God…I loved it so much because Ephesians is one of my favorite books in the Bible. And this book is applicable to everyday life and the different pieces of spiritual armor we need to wear every single day.
I also love Priscilla’s Discerning the Voice of God. This book would be great for a new believer, or someone who is wanting to reconnect with God. It points out different ways in which God communicates with us, mainly through the Word. Something that I do now as I read my Bible, when something stands out to me and I highlight it, I also write the date next to it.
Currently I am reading this bible study and loving it. It talks about the different roles men and women play and how we both fit together for God’s design. This book has convicted me on a couple of different subjects that I have not been a Godly wife, even when I was meaning well. It focuses on the book of Genesis with focusing on Adam and Eve.
Some other Bible Studies I would like to try are the Daniel book study by Beth Moore as well as Ferverent by Priscilla Shirer. All of these Bible studies are broken into six-eight weeks with five days of study per week. It takes me about 15 minutes to complete each day.
…Other books I have read…
The Purpose Driven Life is a book I highly recommend. Brandon and I each read it daily, and it is a 40 day book…some people read a chapter a week. However you would like to read it, read it. This book talks all about your importance on earth and how we are the hands and feet of God and the different purposes he has for us. This book really impacted how involved we are in our church, as well as encouraged us to get baptized.
Everybody Always is a book that is all about the Great Commission…LOVE! How to love your neighbor (and who you neighbor is…hint…it might not be the person next door), and how love changes you. Being love is transformational, not only to you but to those who you love. I read this book in two days. I could not put it down.
Another book I would highly recommend is Jamie Ivey’s “If You Only Knew”. This book is powerful. It helped me release my sin, tell my sin and story, and then know that I am forgiven because Jesus loves me so much. This book reaffirms how big God’s love is for all of us, the cycle of sin, and that the Devil wants you to live with your sin so you feel shame, embarrassment and guilt. Let it go girl!
I listen to Podcasts all day long…on my prep at work, while driving in the car, while I’m folding laundry or doing dishes, while I blog. I am always listening to a Podcast. Here are some of my favorite faith-based podcasts to listen to…
The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey…she has had some of my most favorite people on…Priscilla Shirer, Christine Caine, Brittany Price-Booker, Amy Hannon…So many good people.
Rick Warren…Brandon and I listen to him each morning while getting ready for work.
I also listen to Risen Motherhood…
Sometimes I will also YouTube a Priscilla Shirer sermon or Adrian Rogers as well just to listen to a sermon.
What studies have you done that you recommend? What about podcasts? Books? Devotionals? I would love to read all the recommendations, and I hope that you take a minute to peek at the comments as well to see other recommendations. Thank you for reading today!
