S’mores are my favorite dessert in the fall and summer. Usually I am a cookie gal, but this time of year I love roasting a perfect marshmallow (sometimes I have even been known to burn them on purpose…but mostly golden brown on the outside and ooey-gooey on the inside). The problem with s’mores is that we don’t always have a fire pit to enjoy our favorite treat so I thought I would share with you an easy recipe and yummy recipe I whipped up for my kiddos this week….
You will need…
2 Tablespoons of butter
1 16-oz bag of mini marshmallows (RESERVE 1 heaping cup to the side)
1 12-oz box of Golden Grahams cereal
1 heaping cup of milk chocolate chips
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Begin by reserving 1 heaping cup of the mini marshmallows to stir in later, as well as one heaping cup of milk chocolate chips.
Next, melt butter and the remaining marshmallows and vanilla extract in a pan over medium-low heat, making sure to stir constantly so the mixture does not burn.
Remove from heat and add the Golden Graham cereal, chocolate chips and marshmallows. Mix well.
Press into a 13×9 pan and let set for one hour.
