10 on the 10th…10 Spring Cleaning Tips

Today I am so excited to be linking up with one of my favorite ladies, Erin from Perfectly Port Family. Today we are sharing 10 Spring Cleaning Tips.

If you know me in real life, you know that I LOVE to clean. I love cleaning products, I love trying new methods, I love finding new hacks, I love a clean home, I love covet vacuum lines in my carpet and shiny floors in my kitchen, I love love love to clean. I have been so excited for this link up so I can go and read everyone else’s tips and trips as well….what a great way to start a week!

…ONE…

To start my Spring Cleaning, I start by making a list. I go around room by room and make a list. What do I want to do? What do I want to clean? What do I need to clean? Is this space going to take any special cleaners? You want to know something else that is pretty exciting? Brandon has his own Spring Cleaning list that he has been making and crossing things off. It’s better to do this together rather than apart. His list includes a lot of fixing or repairs (and things that I can’t reach) while my list contains things like scrubbing surfaces. I get to add things to his list too (and vice-versa). It’s so nice to have a game plan. I mean…check out my man doing yard work already this year…HOT!

…THREE…

Make sure you have buckets, soaps, and I also go and pick up a cheap pack of microfiber shop towels this time of year. These work great for dusting surfaces and also if you need to scrub and can be found in several stores.

…FOUR…

My secret cleaning weapon for SEVERAL stains or surfaces…

You can make it a thick paste for your glass cooktop,  grout, or to clean your couch. You can make add vinegar and make it a liquid to clean counters.

…FIVE…

Start from the top down. I like to start by knocking cobwebs down or wiping my walls and working my way down before vacuuming. It doesn’t make much sense to clean your floors if your just knocking dirt onto them.

…SIX…

Pintrest is your best friend when it comes to Spring Cleaning…there are so many charts and spreadsheets for cleaning routines and places to clean that you don’t think of.

…SEVEN…

Don’t forget to spring clean your car! If your kids are like mine, your car can become a quick disaster.

…EIGHT…

This is a little piece of maintenance but I like to change the batteries in smoke detectors, wipe off screens, clean the outside of my doors, and try to wipe down the outside windows as well. Here is what I love using on my outside windows…

…NINE…

Pick a nice day, open your windows and turn on your music!

…TEN…

Make sure your home smells fresh…

And don’t forget to spruce up your hand soaps…

Also, don’t forget a reward like some new fresh flowers or something….

Brandon and I try really hard to do a little cleaning each day but it is always nice to get deep cleaning done. What are your favorite Spring Cleaning tips? I would love to hear!

  1. Fresh flowers as a reward for finishing your spring cleaning is a great idea! They really don’t cost much and I never think to pick them up but I think I’m going to treat myself to some if I get all the things on my list done!

  2. Love all of these tips 🙂 I love to organize and pick up but deep cleaning is not my favorite 🙂 I am inviting you over, lighting the candles and gifting you flowers for your help 🙂 Cleaning the car is a must here for sure!!!

  3. The tip about going from the top down is great. I made the mistake of cleaning the bottom of my fridge first and then crumbs were falling from the top onto where I already cleaned!
