Friday Favorites

Friday Favorites {8/18/17}

Happy Friday! Today I am linking up with Narci, Andrea and Erika . 46589-friday2bfavorites2b01

This is my last Friday of freedom. This time next week I will be in work meetings and PD. While I am sad to see summer slipping away, I cannot wait for school to start again, to fall into a routine with my family, and to meet my new students and their families, school starts in almost one week!

Here are some of our FAVORITES from the week…

This yogurt is quickly becoming one of my FAVORITE splurges and I love the lemon flavored one.

Costco is killing it with their clothes right now. I imagine this will become my FAVORITE shirt to wear on the weekends this fall and winter. I love the buffalo check and I love that it is red and navy.

This was my FAVORITE  inspirational quote from the week.

I took my FAVORITE kiddos on one last road trip/adventure this week and we had so much fun together.

One of our FAVORITE things to do this summer was to take a quick trip…

Seattle Trip

Our way to trip through Oregon and , Sunriver, Oregon

And a little road trip to visit grandparents and cousins in Yakima, WA.

My garden is a FAVORITE and I have reached the point with tomatoes and zucchini that I can start putting some aside for winter by freezing them. I boil the tomatoes until they are starting to split and then drop them into ice water, cool them and then peel them. I put them in freezer bags for soups and sauces this winter. I also shred my zucchini and separate them into freezer bags (I put 4 cups of shredded zucchini into one bag) and then I can make chocolate chip zucchini bread all year long.

My friend Stephanie is hosting a fun challenge…where 10 dresses or skirts in the month of September and then share your outfits on October 10th. This is going to help me shop my closet which is always a FAVORITE. I always get to the end of a season and start hating my closet because I feel like I have worn everything several times. Hopefully this will help perk me up!

What are your favorites on this Friday? What plans do you have for this weekend? I hope you make it a good one!

    1. I am excited for the challenge! I think it will be really fun and a good chance to wear what I already have. I also like it because it will be at the end of a season (when I feel like i have nothing to wear) so I can revive those clothes! I love gardening…I wish I could share some veggies with you!

  1. The lemon Oui was my favorite too! I am always such a sucker for lemon things. Sams clothes have been a huge disappointment lately. At least Costco has their A game on.

    1. Bummer about the Sams clothes. Costco can be hit or miss sometimes but they are on point right now. Lemon anything is so good! I hope you are having a great Anniversary weekend!

  2. That challenge sounds super fun but I don’t think I have that many skirts/dresses to wear LOL! Yay for an end of summer trip – we enjoyed ours. I hope your weekend is fun and restful and next week is just the best start to a year ever for you! xo

    1. Thank you Amanda! I cannot wait to get back to school and I get to meet my families this week which makes me excited, happy, and a little nervous. Ha! Your trip looked like so much fun. The challenge does look like fun. I just hope the weather cooperates! 🙂

  3. I love that you posted how you freeze your tomatoes. Next year I will have a garden. I wanted to do it this year, but it just never worked out! I love making homemade spaghetti sauce, and how good would fresh tomatoes be in it! Yum!
    Have a great weekend Jenna!!!

    1. I love being able to pull out a bag of the tomatoes and add them to any recipe or make up a homemade spaghetti sauce. Have the best time on your trip, I can’t wait to hear about it!

    1. It works out really well and then when we want zucchini bread it is already pre-measured and ready to go. All you have to do is thaw it. I also freeze them in “zoodles” so I have some of those on hand as well.

    1. I have started putting the kids to bed 15 minutes earlier and I think they are really excited for routine again too. Although I am going to miss my quiet mornings and getting my workout in during the morning as well.

  4. What a fun end of summer adventure! Did you kids ride that roller coaster! Ahhhh! I’m a chicken! Wishing you a great start to your school year!

    1. Oh yes! My son LOVES them all, my daughter hates them all. But she did go on both the wooden ones. Guy and I went on the corckscrew (the upside down one) and he yelled out “BEST DAY EVER!” LOL!

  5. Thanks for the review of the yogurt…can’t wait to try it. I haven’t seen it in our stores yet here in Texas! I love all the new clothes at Costco, but I can’t even think about flannel yet! It will be about December before I can wear that. Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. I bet! I get jealous of the south during the winter and am envious of your gorgeous weather, but I do like fall up here in the north. The yogurt is so good, when you find it get your hands on it! Have a great weekend Tanya!

  6. Oh how I would love to have a garden one day! I have such great memories of my Meme canning and putting away veggies in the summer and it was so nice to enjoy them all year long. I’m obviously soooo behind on my blog reading because this is the first I’ve seen of Stephanie’s Dresstember challenge…so fun! I am working on a no spend few months and I really want to shop my closet and rid it of anything I don’t love 100%.

    1. Those months are always such a challenge for me! But it does make me more mindful while shopping. It also helps to declutter closets too. I really like being able to pull out veggies all year long. Just a little taste of summer during the long winter months 🙂

  7. Boo on last week of freedom! But sometimes it’s so nice to get back into a routine! I know my Little is loving being back to school. I’m sure that will also fade with time. Haha. That navy and blue plaid is beautiful – I love it!! Looks like you guys had a great last week! Enjoy the weekend too. 🙂

    1. I cannot wait to get back into a routine and start wearing real outfits again. Hahahaha! I never think I am going to feel that way and then August happens and I always look forward to getting ready for the day. I mean running shorts and tank tops are great, but so is getting dressed. Hope you had a great weekend with your family!
