Fit-Fluence {June/July}

Hi! It has been awhile since I have shared with you all an update on my weight loss/working out. Slowly but surely I am making progress….

The biggest changes I have noticed are in my legs and arms, as well as face.
Weight loss…

I am down8 pounds since June making my total weight loss 24 pounds.


  • I want to lose 20 pounds before the end of August.
  • Run 50 miles again in August.
  • Better my sleep.
  • Drink mostly water.
  • Find some healthy snacks and lunch ideas for back to school.
  • Eat fruit for breakfast.

Summer is always a hard time for me. It seems like anywhere I look there is parties and celebrations. I have focused on healthy foods (like the veggie tray) or limiting myself to one drink if we are out. This month it will be easier to limit the alcohol…because a cold beer or a rum drink on a hot day is always my weakness.


No excuses.


This next one has been such a game changer for me. When I am doing something that is SUPER hard or I am just not feeling it, I turn to prayer and thank God for allowing me to do this. I may not like it, but I can do it and for that I am thankful.

Never miss a Monday. It sets your week. If Monday's hard try a less intense workout. I like to start my week with strength training or the 21 Day FIX Dirty Thirty exercise because Monday's are hard for me to do cardio. Working out it becoming a habit for me and something I NEED to do during the day. I can tell a HUGE difference in my mood if I have worked out. My patience is better, my sleep is better, my stress level is better. I really need to wrap my mind around not working out in the mornings when school starts and not let that be an excuse.

What I’ve been eating…

Breakfast has been fruit…cup up melon, watermelon, berries and sometimes an English Muffin.

Dinner…sometimes this has been where the wheels have fallen off…cereal, popcorn, easy stuff. It always seems like late summer we eat later (because we are playing and busy) and it is not always the healthiest.
What are your go-to favorite snacks for at work? What about your favorite lunches while working? I would love ideas on that as well. Have a great day!

  1. Girl that before and after photo is so stinking impressive! Proud of you and your hard work. When you figure out some healthy snack options please share them!!!

  2. Way to go! You look awesome, and I know you’ll meet your goal. I have been eating fruit (usually berries) for breakfast with a spoonful of greek yogurt mixed in. That little bit of protein helps keep me going til lunch time. For snacks, I have been eating a 100-calorie pack of nuts. They are expensive, but i like the portion control.

  3. Way to go! I am so proud of you! In the spring, I took a spinach and kale salad with a Think Thin bar for school lunch. This fall, I plan to take overnight oats for lunch to keep me full. I love Boom Chicka Pop for a snack or a tablespoon of Jif! Hummus is a good snack too!

    1. Summer is REALLY hard for me. I love a cold beer or wine at night, and all the parties and celebrations. I always struggle in the summer. Also, I am home all day so I want to snack constantly.
