Friday Favorites {7/28/17}

Happy Friday! Today I am linked up with Narci, Andrea and Erika and sharing my favorites from the week.

We had a great week this week and I hope you did too! It was all about the little things this week.

I saw this on Instagram and tried it, hilarious!

We spent a lot of time crafting. The kids made their own coozies for their water bottles. This was their FAVORITE thing to do this week.

I went on a float trip with my favorite ladies but I MISSED my bestie Tara and it was not the same without her. We (teachers) do this every summer and it is one of my FAVORITE days of the entire summer. I love my friends/co-workers!

Harvest time is a FAVORITE time of year and we got to spend some time with our FAVORITE farmer on the combine this week!

Every farm kid’s FAVORITE harvest snack is wheat right out of the shuck.

And this might be my FAVORITE picture from the week. Any kid who grew up riding in farm equipment knows they make the best napping spots.

While Guy and Brandon had some man time, Maddi and I had some girl time. Maddi chose her FAVORITE restaurant, Applebee’s.

Pottery Barn backpacks are a FAVORITE of ours. If you are in the market for a backpack, these last my kids two years (and more). As a teacher I see a lot of backpacks come and go and these are so durable. I love them. They are having great sales right now as well. I got these backpacks for $35 each. Make sure you look at the sizes, I order Large. We also ordered these from Pottery Barn Teen.

I hope you had a great week and have some fun planned for your weekend. We have another low-key weekend planned before a crazy fun week next week. I hope you have a great weekend!

  1. Your float trip with teacher friends looks like it would be a blast! I start to miss my teacher friends toward the end of summer. Love you harvest pics! I have fond childhood memories of harvest helping in our family’s elevator. Have a great weekend.

    1. We are all really great friends outside of school and meet up weekly for playdates with our kiddos, but it is so good to get some mom time in too. I love that you grew up helping on your families farm and working in their elevator. I pray my kiddos have great memories of it too!

  2. What a great week! I love the pictures in the farm equipment, since that is something I’ve never really seen before. I agree about the Pottery Barn quality. This year we got a lunchbox for Grace from PBteen and it’s so cute! Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. Living in Iowa we love farm life and can experience it without the HARD HARD work out our back window! We got to ride in a combine once and I even drove it, what fun that was! We love PBK backpacks too. I just washed Vera’s in the washing machine last night and we are going on 3 years with that bag! Solon has a Herschel bag and he is going on 5 years with it. I say both are worth their money! I think next year he will need a bigger one! xoxo ERIN

    1. A good backpack is worth their weight in gold! I love that you have driven a combine. What great memories. I bet your kiddos love watching the farming happen. I hope you all have a great weekend!

  4. I love those pottery barn backpacks. I need to have the girls look at those tonight. That is so cool that you can eat wheat right out of the shuck, never knew. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

    1. And if you get enough wheat, it makes a gum. So gross but the kids think it is really cool and they love it! I didn’t find too many good ones on PBKids, but the PBTeen had some great backpacks!

    1. Hi Stephanie, I never thought to check out LL Bean. PB has them on sale for around $35, if not they are around $80. And they last! You can also order matching lunch boxes, but my kids like picking out other lunch boxes (Nike/cheetah/etc…)

    1. I love their backpacks. They can be washed, they last. My kids do not like to put their name on them though. I also wait until they are on sale. if not YIKES…they are around $80 not on sale

  5. Seriously, this weeks sounds amazing! I love the idea of the annual girls float trip. Sounds like soooo much fun! And I love the farm life. And the pic of the whole family in the combine is perfect. And my kids always fall asleep on the tractor! Ha. Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

    1. Thank you Trista! The float trip is one of my favorite days of the year, and my favorite day of the summer. We love the farm life too. I can’t imagine not being apart of it. It’s so funny to me, without a doubt, if my kids ride for more than 30 minutes they are out like a light! Hahahaha! Have a great weekend my friend.

  6. So now I am in a dilemma because I am comfortable and my phone is out of reach. I WILL do this soon friend. Love the new backpacks, especially the girly one. I hope y’all had an amazing weekend and are loving these final weeks of summer.
