Weekend Recap

Hello, Monday

Happy Monday! I am linking with Johannah and Heather  today for their Hello, Monday link up. We had a fun weekend with an extra dose of family, sun, and fun.

Friday morning started with some excitement around here. I am terrified of birds. Legit, scared of bird. Friday morning I was sitting down to drink a cup of coffee when all of a sudden a wild turkey strolled up our drive way and was looking at me! This is a really random thing to happen. I was able to catch a quick pic right as he was running away because I screamed.

Friday was the bike rodeo for 3rd and 4th graders so the kids rode their bikes to school.

Saturday was Guy’s last baseball game of the season. I cannot wait to watch these boys play together as they grow up and I hope they always love the game as much as they do right now.

The mom in charge of snacks after the game made the boys these giant, homemade animal cookies. SO YUMMY! I am going to have to remake these one day.

We were SUPER excited for Saturday because Grandma Nana (Brandon’s mom) and his Grandpa Glenn came to watch Guy’s baseball game. We went out to lunch with them after the game.

That afternoon was full of games and a graduation party.

The kids and I were outside playing with side walk chalk when the most beautiful sunset happened on Saturday. The sky was amazing.

Sunday was rainy and in the 60’s so we headed to Costco for groceries, and then came home, snuggled under blankets and took naps. My parents took the kids that afternoon and so I binge watched Real Housewives.

I hope you have a great start to your week!

  1. Those animal cookies are SO cute. Please share the recipe when you do. Girl you and your bird fear is adorable. I am TERRIFIED of snakes and have been worrying about them a lot out on our land recently.

  2. Oh my goodness! I hate birds too! Like despise them! I think it’s their feet and their beaks that freak me out the most. I would have been terrified if that came near me! haha
That sunset is absolutely beautiful. I am a *huge* sucker for sunrises and sunsets. Love them!
Glad you guys had a great weekend!!!

    1. I feel like life has really slowed down this past three weeks. Sports are over so that opens up a lot of our time. I love having all this family time!

  3. I feel the same way about birds. My whole family laughs when they remember how I reacted to the flocks of pigeons in a Paris park. I love those animal crackers…such a cute idea!

  4. Hahahahaha!! I’d probably scream and run too if a wild turkey walked up my driveway! That’s hysterical! Also, that sunset is AMAZING. And those giant animal cookies are genius and I’d probably eat 10 of them. Yumm!!

    1. Hi Trista, I feel you with baseball. I love watching my kids do what they love, but Mama is ready for a break…and so are my kiddos. It was fun while it lasted but we are ready for summer now 🙂

    1. The sunsets have been on point this year 🙂 I don’t think they beat the Texas skies though. I am still thinking about those animal cookies…they were SO good!
