What's Up Wednesday

What’s Up Wednesday {May 2017}

Well the month of May-hem just zoomed right past us. Now it is time for summer, sun, and lots of fun! Today I am linking with Mel, Shay, and Sheaffer

What we’re eating this week…

This week’s Meal Plan.

What I’m reminiscing about…

Comparison pictures of the first and last days of school…

My girl on her first and last day of kindergarten.

Guy’s first and last day of Playschool.

What I’m loving…

My sunless tanner. I LOVE this stuff. It dries fast, does not smell, and does not leave a streak of orange wherever I go 🙂 It also adds just a hint of color. I am fair skinned and this does not turn me orange, it is the perfect amount of color.

What we’ve been up to…

Planting all of my flowers and veggies.

Enjoying the sunshine.

Going for bike rides…

And using our fidget spinners…

What I’m dreading…

Nothing! Things are really slowing down around here and we are wrapping up a GREAT school year.

What I’m working on…

Report cards and assessments. One thing I absolutely LOVE about teaching kindergarten is the fact that many students come to me with little academic knowledge–some students are unsure how to hold a pencil correctly or write their names, let alone letters and numbers. I love how far they come…writing books, reading, adding and subtracting fluently, how to be a friend, how to be a student, and so much more.

What I’m excited about…

Summer Break!

What I’m watching/reading…

I love the Magnolia Journal. Each time it gets delivered I usually read it that day front to back.

We have also been watching The Brady Bunch on Hulu. My kids love this show and so do I. It has been so fun watching it with them.

What I’m listening to…

My running play list.

And Eric Church always gets me in the mood for summer.

Joe Nicholos also gets me in the mood for summer. Sunny and 75 is one of my favorite songs and always makes me think of summer.

What I’m wearing…

Lots of summer-ish clothes. The truth is, I plan on spending the majority of my days (during the next couple of months) in running shorts and tank tops or swimsuits and cover ups, the days of getting dressed up are getting limited for awhile and I am okay with that.

All pieces of this outfit can be found at Old Navy

I hope the swing dress never goes out of style.

What I’m doing this weekend…

We have Guy’s last baseball game, graduation, graduation parties, and family time. It is going to be a busy and fun weekend.

What I’m looking forward to next month…

Going to a Mariners game!

What else is new…

My recipe for Monster Cookies. They are a monster of a cookie!

*BONUS* Question…Favorite vacation spot…

I loved Honduras.

Every other year we plan on taking a big vacation, but we also like taking smaller vacations too. A favorite smaller vacation is staying a little closer to home and Leavenworth, WA is the perfect spot. It is a little German town and in the mountains so it is cooler. Brandon and I have been there twice and loved it both times.

  1. That Ericka Jayne song made me laugh so hard. She’s one of my faves, and so is that song!! I bet it is one heck of a good song to run to. Love your first and last day pictures😍

  2. When I think of summer songs, Sunny and 75 is one of the first ones that comes to mind! I need to check out the Jergens Instant Sun. I have always been so scared of them mostly because of the orange horror stories. Thanks for recommending this one!! I hope you have a great Wednesday!!

    1. Isn’t Joe Nichols one of the best? I love that song. I love that song so much that it is my alarm on my phone and it goes off throughout the school day because of all the alarms to send kids to their specialist meetings. I think of summer all year long 🙂 You should try this sunless tanner. I like it and it is not orange at all on me.

  3. Such a great WUW!! I’m so glad more generations are enjoying the Brady Bunch, I just heard the other day where it is often used in therapy for children because of the wonderful moral fabrics it was made up of. Just love that show! And man, ifyou guys get ice cream that looks that good, I want to go on your family outings! Happy Wednesday beautiful babe!

    1. The Brady Bunch will forever be a favorite. The George Glass episode is one of my favorites. Maddi also thinks we need our own Alice. I agree with her! 🙂 That ice cream is a special treat and the cones are HUGE! It is cotton candy flavored but they also have a yummy sherbert!

  4. I need to come visit your state!! Washington looks so beautiful. I also need to look into a vacation to Honduras. I love the first and last day comparison pictures. It is so crazy how much the kids change every year. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

    1. You should come visit Washington! The first and last day comparisons get me every single time. I cannot believe what a difference 180 school days makes. Happy Wednesday!

  5. This post gave me all the school is out vibes. Your cuties sure have grown up over the past couple of years. That swing dress is 😍😍😍 too!

    1. I love the swing dress cut and hope it doesn’t go anywhere anytime soon! We are soooo excited for summer break and just enjoying the sun! Happy Wednesday Beth!

    1. Leavenworth is so fun! It is a good weekend getaway. Have you seen pictures around Christmas time? It is beautiful. We want to go then, but it books up so fast. We have went during the fall and it is so beautiful then too. I high suggest it! 🙂
