What’s Up Wednesday {12/21/16}

Woohoo for What’s Up Wednesday. Today I am linking with Shay, Mel, and Sheaffer. And three cheers that Christmas Break begins today. I know that I have two kiddos who are really excited to sleep in and stay up late, celebrate Christmas and just simply be at home for a couple of days. And, this is my first vacation since I started my Masters degree in June of 2015. I have had to use every break/vacation to still complete homework and assignments so I am excited to not have to think about that!

What we’re eating…

You can find my weekly meal plan here.

I am also going to be making Breakfast Casserole for Christmas morning.

and the Pioneer Woman Cinnamon Rolls

What I’m reminiscing about…

Ever since writing about Favorite Christmas Memories last week, I have been reminiscing about my grandparents and Christmas with them. My grandma would always have a brunch with a fancy table setting. My grandpa would always spoil us with some kind of handmade item (like a chest, a desk, a cupboard, a horse stable). I have been thinking A LOT about those two people who were so dear to me.

What I’m loving…

My Erin Condren Life Planner for 2017.

I have used the Erin Condren Lesson Planner for four years now and LOVE it. I have been able to keep home and work scheduled in this book for the last couple of years but this year with both kids involved in multiple sports and activities I needed to separate the two and am so glad that I splurged on this.

What we have been up to…

Christmas, Christmas, and more Christmas.

And playing in the snow…

What I am dreading…

Sorting out tax information/insurance information/student loan information/ all that end of the year stuff.

What I am working on…

Wrapping gifts and baking! All fun things. I am also starting to think about next years goals. Do you make resolutions? I always love the beginning of a New Year and new possibilities.

What I’m excited about…

Christmas 2015 aftermath at my parents.

What I’m watching/Reading…

I have not read anything for a long time. I probably should find the time, but honestly there is so much going on right now it is not a priority. I also have added some new books to my wishlist and so I am hoping I get a few of those this Christmas. Give me all the books over Christmas break.

However, what I lack in reading time I make up for in TV watching time. Hahahaha. We have been watching all the Christmas Movies, Hallmark, Life in Pieces, The Big Bang, and the Real Housewives. I have a whole bunch of TV saved up on my DVR for Christmas Break.

What I’m listening too…

Pandora’s Traditional Christmas.

What I am wearing…

Sweater (Costco)/ Hunters (boots)

Flannel shirt/T-Shirt/ shoes

What I’m doing this weekend…

Celebrating Christmas!

What I’m looking forward to next month…

The New Year and a new start. I am looking forward to slowing down a little and watching my kids play basketball on Saturdays, eating healthier, and getting back on a normal schedule.

What else is new…

Not much, we are just focusing on Christmas and spending time together. Today we kick off Christmas Break. We are all looking forward to that!

Favorite memory from 2016…

I have so many, but if I had to pick one I would choose our summer vacation this year (hello Caribbean cruise). We created so many memories and had an amazing time.

I love this link-up. I hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

  1. I am glad I am not alone in the book reading department. I am ready for the new year too. I love to make new year resolutions and I feel like it is a fresh start to do everything better than I did this year. I hope you guys have a wonderful day!

    1. I have not sat down and read a book since summer break so I am really lacking. I love reading but finding time is always the hard part. I also love New Years resolutions, its a great way to look at the New Year with some hope. Have a great day Jessica!

    1. Hi Heather, I am so glad we are on break. We were talking at work that we all feel behind because we don’t start break until so late this yet. I am so excited to watch a Hallmark movie and wrap presents tonight, it is going to get me through the day 🙂 Have a great one!

  2. I think Pioneer Woman’s cinnamon rolls are always a hit for Christmas! And I love your blue dress and scarf outfit! That looks like something I live in these days! Merry Christmas!

    1. I love winter because of leggings, oversized dresses, scarves and boots. The clothes are always so comfortable. 🙂 I agree about the Pioneer Woman cinnamon rolls. I love the recipe, it’s not hard, but I only make them this time of year and have no idea why I wait so long! Have a great day Laura!

  3. I asked Santa, aka Mr. Nine for an EC Planner for Christmas, I know I’ll love it. Hey Buffalo Plaid cutie!! You look adorable and love the Hunters too!! Cheers to Christmas break!!! 😉

    1. Cheers to Christmas break! And yes, you will love a EC Planner. I hope he delivers. They usually go on sale in January as well if it doesn’t come wrapped under your tree 🙂 I am really excited to start using mine!

  4. I love that teal dress & scarf! Very cute!
Pioneer Woman cinnamon rolls are the best!! It’s been years since I’ve made them…I really should try to squeeze those in before I start caring about what I eat again….
Enjoy your break! I hope it’s full of fun family time!
