Friday Favorites

Friday Favorites {12/16/16}

Oh Friday, I could hug you! I love this time of year and all the excitement and magic that it brings to my classroom and home. Teaching kindergarten, the excitement is palpable, having young kids at home the magic and amazement is there. I love seeing Christmas through the eyes of little ones. But it is also exhausting. If anyone needs me, I will be eating pizza and laying on my couch tonight. Oh wait, no I wont. I want to laugh but cry but cringe all at the same time so I will just keep drinking all the coffee and know that a break is coming quickly…yes, we go to school until Wednesday of next week. But, it might be some of my favorite days of the year…a Polar Express Pajama Day complete with cookies and hot chocolate, and the Christmas spirit is high at home and at school.

Now onto my favorites from this week.

We have a reader in our house! Guy has just taken off on writing and reading in the last three weeks. I LOVE watching him and how far he has grown. I also am super excited because I know the most growth in the school year is going to happen between January and Spring Break and cannot wait to see how far he comes. His teacher (Hi Tara!) is the best at engaging little learners and has brought him SOOOO far! Amazing teacher=amazing learning!

I am so in love with my Life Planner for next year. Erin Condren makes the BEST products. I have used her lesson planner for the past four years and love them and will never stop using them. I have never bought a Life Planner but the price on Black Friday was too good to pass up. Merry Christmas to me! Also, right now her site is having a 25% off sale including the Life Planner. I highly recommend this purchase. I feel more organized and ready for the new year than ever before. I have used planners from different big box stores each year and they hold NO candle to the Life Planner (see through pages, pens bleed through, not enough room for notes, spirals/bindings break easily). If you like paper planners, this is for you.

I wanted to share one of my favorite ways to jazz up a gift. I love using Tulle and this green and red sparkly tulle adds a festive and fun touch to any package.

We had a snow day on Thursday and it was perfect!

Each Christmas season we pick a night to take a walk through our neighborhood and sip hot cocoa and look at our neighbor’s twinkling lights. This is just a fun little time (takes about 20 minutes tops). Tonight is the night and we are pretty excited. I love these special little traditions that we do together.

I hope you have a great weekend in front of you. We have a Christmas party this weekend with my mom’s side of the family. We all bring an appetizer and it is always a good time. Happy Friday!

  1. I LOVE LOVE my Erin Condren Life Planner! I would be LOST without it!
    What a fun tradition!! Enjoy seeing the lights tonight!
    Happy Friday!
    About 2:15 today we are officially on Christmas break! Can I get an AMEN?!?!?

    1. Heather, I cannot wait to start using the Life Planner. The Lesson Planner worked well for keeping me on track but now that my kids are older and more involved I need one for work and one for home. I am so happy you are all on break starting today. Enjoy your time together!

    1. Thanks Jessica, I am going to need all the prayers I can get next week 🙂 But we have some fun things planned and it is always so fun to be a teacher this time of year so I am going to soak it all in. Have a great weekend!

    1. Hi Britt! We are making the most of the snow and quality time inside. It makes a person snuggle up more and slow down. It is supposed to be near 0 this weekend so we will be inside. Have a great weekend!

  2. Snow much fun!! We decided to head to New Mexico after Christmas and I can’t wait for my littles to see “real” snow! What we get here, if any, pretty much melts by the time it hits the ground.
